VOLUNTEER PROJECTS

GREEN'S BRIDGE CLEANUP
PROJECT TASKS
See 2019 Minto project below

We ask for two volunteers for each month.

Volunteers pick day (days) and time according to their availabity and schedule. Multiple days in a month are OK. Volunteers may partnership with the other volunteer on list.

We recommnend bringing a bucket or bag for trash picked up. Place trash in the garbage container near the HONEY BUCKET at the entrance parking lot. Larger debris may be left near the garbage can. Call the chairman if garbage can is full or large debris is left by the can. He will check with ODFW for early pick up.

We have garbage pickup hand tools that may be checked out to use, or you may provide your own.

Trash is to be picked up in the entrance parking lot, along the road to the launch site, and at the launch site.

Contact the chairman if there are larger items, such as bed frames, mattress. etc. for special handling.

During a few summer months the gate is locked when there is excessive vandalism in the parking lot and road access to the launch site. WE HAVE A SET OF KEYS available to check out to volunteers when the gate is locked.

Boaters using the launch site during the months when the gate is locked may make special arrangements, via ODFW, to purchase a key from a specified locksmith in Salem.

MINTO CODE TAG COLLECTION & INPUT INFO PROJECT 2019

Bob Johnston comments:
Member of the work party September 18, 2019
Hi, we had a good morning, interesting place.
The three of us scanned for tags, measured, sexed, and the ones with tags cut the nose off.
Bart will be asking for more help on Tuesday and Wednesday next week,
September 25 & 26, 2019

They will be doing Santiam fish. the ones we did today were McKenzie.
Thought a few photos may be helpful to get some guys to help.
Anyone taking photos andwilling to share, we can put them in the New Years party CD

As you can see by the photos, the work area is wet. Volunteers should plan on wearing rain gear, you will be handling wet slimmy, slick fish.
